At Jatingaleh 01 Public Elementary School, students are discovering that waste is not simply something to throw away. It can become something valuable. Through an innovative learning program developed by Inveskids, students are introduced to EcoQuest, a digital waste bank application designed to combine environmental education, financial literacy, and interactive gameplay.

EcoQuest brings a game like experience into the learning process. Inspired by the concept of games such as Pokémon GO, students are encouraged to explore their surroundings, search for different types of waste, and learn how recyclable materials can have economic value. In the EcoQuest learning experience, students begin by searching for waste around their environment. Instead of simply collecting it, they learn to identify and categorize the materials they find.

Once the waste is identified, students can scan the waste through the application. The app then helps them understand the type of waste and its potential value. Students can also search for waste collectors or recycling shops through the application to determine where the waste can be sold and how much it is worth.

This creates an experience similar to a simulation game, where students can see the process of transforming something that is often considered worthless into money. By seeing how collected waste can have monetary value, students learn that money can come from productive activities and that even small amounts can be meaningful when managed properly. The experience can encourage students to develop habits such as saving, setting goals, and making thoughtful decisions about how they use their money.
