Semarang, May 2025
The first batch of the Training of Trainers (TOT) program for elementary school teachers in Semarang Tengah, Candisari, and Gajahmungkur is an innovative initiative aimed at strengthening the dissemination of financial literacy education across the city. This program equips teachers with the knowledge and resources needed to effectively integrate financial literacy into their classroom instruction.
Through a series of comprehensive training sessions, educators are not only introduced to fundamental financial concepts such as budgeting, saving, planning, and resource management, but are also guided in developing creative, student-centered teaching strategies that connect these concepts to students’ everyday experiences. The program encourages interdisciplinary learning, enabling financial principles to be naturally incorporated into various subjects while reinforcing both academic and life skills.
By positioning teachers as key facilitators of knowledge, the TOT program ensures that financial literacy can be delivered consistently and effectively to a wider student population. Through collaboration and peer learning, each participating teacher becomes an agent of change, capable of inspiring both students and fellow educators. This ripple effect fosters a sustainable educational ecosystem in which knowledge continues to grow and evolve beyond the initial training.
The program also emphasizes experiential learning, encouraging teachers to use games, storytelling, and real-world simulations to help students understand financial concepts such as responsible money management from an early age. Ultimately, the TOT program aims to cultivate a culture of responsibility, independence, and forward thinking among both teachers and students.
